Show notes - Episode 331: Community Games on the Go

Morning, friends!

We're back to normal this week: answering questions, talking sports, playing a tune, and more - let's go!

Pat rambles on fences (2:19), vaccines (5:49), sports news (12:10), and weird Facebook messages (15:05). Plus trouble with the live show (22:16), the Steam Deck (26:20), and new music from Bullpup (32:04)!

🤺

Fencing

Even though it cost more than I'd hoped, I am very happy with our fencing. An added bonus is that my jerk neighbors are very unhappy with it. This is good, because they are the reason I had the fences built. Be adults and respect my space, or Go Fusco Yourself.

Vaccines

I got the thing. The kiddo got his shots. Everyone is getting protected from diseases. Science!

Sports stuff

Not much happening in the sports world this week. Baseball is on break. Hockey is over. NBA is almost done. We're not far from The Olympics, though!

Facebook encounters

Pro tip: Don't message strangers to ask them if you can login to their game accounts. Also: don't ask them to buy a brand new game for you. Start a GoFundMe instead. You'll have more fun. Probably.

Fan mail

I can't remember who asked the question about me thinking I'd get fired from my live show, but I appreciate the segment idea. Oh what could have been?

Steam Deck

So I misspoke on the show about the first version of this: it is $400, not $300. I'm still not planning to get it, but I do like the concept. PC games on the go with the ability to run emulators? What's the downside? (The price. The price is the downside.) Also I have no idea if new consoles also have reservation slots, as I have not bought a brand new console in many years. I did a great job with this story.

Bullpup

Thanks to our new pals, Bullpup, for their tune this week! I get strong 2005 vybes from this song - even the page on Bandcamp feels like a Xanga or MySpace - and that rules. I think there is an album coming from them at some point so I'll be sure to let you know if/when that happens!

🎸

And that's that, friends - we made it! Thank you for joining me this week. I hope you are well and that the week ahead is super fun. I don't know what's on tap for next week, so come on back and we'll find out together. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
