I don't know if this is true for every job, and maybe your employer has a note in the handbook about taking a day, but come on here. All you should have to tell your boss is that you won't be in that day, Forget all of this nonsense - I'll talk to you when I return.

Drugs in your candy

Speaking of nonsense, this has always been silly to me. No one is putting their good drugs into your kids' candy. It doesn't make fiscal sense. That said, I'm happy to inspect any Twix bars or Reese's Peanut Butter Cups that look suspicious.

Sports go sports!

Phillies play again tonight (I'm typing this Friday morning so I don't know the result). The Union won their latest playoff game. The Flyers are hot - thank you for the update, Captain! The Eagles are still undefeated. And the Sixers...well it's not great so far. But sports! Also I didn't know this until late last night re: the Astros: they are undefeated in the postseason while Jose Altuve is 0-20. That's wild. Sports!
