Show notes - Episode 480: We Can Dress Ourselves

Morning, friends!

When I was putting this episode together, I thought it was going to be a shorter one. That's why I did the TV pilot review. Then I really got to rambling and here we all are. Let's get to the stuff!

Pat plays new music from This Modern (2:49), then rambles on return to office mandates (7:20), dress codes (26:14), the King of Queens pilot (38:35), and embracing his gimmick (1:04:43).

RTO mandates

If you have been following the show or my social media in the last four years, you know my stance on working from home. The idea that the work can't get done anywhere besides the office is patently false. Fancy businesses needing more money is not the fault of the worker. The whole situation with City of Philadelphia employees is completely ridiculous. Another ding against the mayor!

Dress codes

I swear I wanted this to be more light-hearted, but it did come off a bit more patpeeve-ish. The point is: Who are these sticks in the mud who think we can't relax dress codes? We've already proven that work can be done off-site. When can we concede that shorts at work are okay?

TV pilot review: The King of Queens

I have missed talking about TV shows on the podcast. Shoutout to Jimmy for the suggestion, as it was super fun to revisit this show. If I had watched it for the first time, this episode would make me come back for more. Even so, I may jump back in and do a re-watch. It was that good. Watch along with me on Peacock!

Embracing my gimmick

I have to say, I love that "is this a sandwich?" has become a thing with me. Please keep sending me this Cube Rule picture and other stories about food classifications. They always make me smile. I love that you think of me with these.

🌭

And that, as we say, is that! Thank you for coming along once again. Have a lovely weekend doing whatever it is that you do on the long ones. Next week we should have a new tune and a question about summer traditions, so come on back for that. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
