Show notes - Episode 537: Change Your Tone at the Counter

Morning, friends!

My job recently announced that full-time teleworking will no longer be an option starting on August 4. I am equal parts frustrated and bewildered, but we shall see what that actually looks like. I can tell you that I will likely have to have some episodes in the can, so if you have suggestions for me I would love to read them.

Today we talked going down the shore, a screaming match at McDonald's a dumb internet post, and more. We also played a tune from longtime friends of the show. Let's do this!

Pat plays new music from Yoko and the Ohno’s (5:22), then rambles on a trip down the shore (11:37), a screaming match at McDonald’s (24:07), a dumb internet post about MySpace (34:10), and more.

Thanks to our dear friends for the tune! Click the name to find more and tell em Pat said hi!

Shore trips

I never thought I would find ways to enjoy going down the shore, but time with my wife and kiddo has been enjoyable. We all enjoyed the boardwalk. I got a lobster roll and we shared delicious boardwalk fries. Arcade games rule. And! So. Many. Butts. No real downside!

Screaming at McDonald's

Look, I know it's really upsetting to not get what you [think you] ordered. And McDonald's fries are delicious. But screaming at the employees, calling corporate, and screaming at the employees again? That's not the move. Just talk to them like people and they can try to help you. No one wants to be yelled at while working - or doing much of anything. What a nut.

Dumb internet post: MySpace didn't have this

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, friends. I will agree that MySpace had better features and functionality than most social media sites do today. But to say there were no ads, influencers, or clout chasing is factually incorrect. Also I just looked up the other big name from that time: it was Jeffree Star. I feel better now.

🍟

And that, as we say, is that! Thank you for coming along today! Next week, we will have guests: George and Sean from the band, Ruby, join the show to talk all about their debut EP. Come on back for the fun stuff! Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
