One of the first lessons I learned in radio was to not let your personal life get in the way of the show. The analogy given was "your dog just died...and it's a great day to be here." Let me say, for probably not the first time, that I am grateful to have as much freedom as I do when putting together this show. Sometimes I just have to get stuff off my chest, and today is one of those days. Let's get to the stuff!
Pat gets right to it to rant on office returns, cookie pre-sales, robot answering services, and more.

Return to office
You knew when I found out what the plan was, I was going to be upset no matter what. But this? This is just stupid. In which ways does four weeks in and four weeks out of the office "strengthen collaboration, operational efficiency, and service delivery" specifically? This will just waste my time that could be spent actually working and my money that could be spent on literally anything but commuting. I hate it here.
Oreo pre-sale
Okay, we have officially lost the plot. Why on Thor's Earth do we need to register for a pre-sale for Oreos? What happened to putting them on the shelf and letting people run wild? Shit, advertise them on Instacart and DoorDash. Everyone should have a chance to buy new products, not just those who happen to be scrolling social media.
Robot receptionist
I was already upset this week, because we have been dealing with a lot of household nonsense. So when I had to make more than one attempt to get through to someone at my bank, it did not sit well with me. I know corporations do not want to pay people, but can we please get back to this? I want to be able to explain to a person what my issue is so they can try to help. I should not have to yell at a robot before a person connects.
WWE/ESPN - a lesson in PR
I'm not saying the move to ESPN is a bad one. I am just concerned that a massive company cannot handle a task so simple as disseminating information. That information released should have read something like this:
WWE PLEs are moving to ESPN in 2026. You will be able to stream every WWE PLE on the new ESPN app starting in 2026. If you have a cable provider (such as DirecTV, YouTube TV, Hulu Live), you can authenticate through the new ESPN app to enjoy these events at no extra cost. If you do not have a cable provider, the new ESPN streaming service will cost $29.99 per month. The app is scheduled to launch in Fall 2025, so be sure to check back here and at ESPN for more information.
That would have been so much more helpful to anyone who had questions. And if the answers aren't available? That's fine and to be expected with a new venture. But saying "hey we're going to this new service that costs $30 per month" when not everyone would have to pay that is not a good move. Get it together!

And that, as we say, is that! We were on one today, so hopefully next week will be a bit more fun. Come on back, because we'll at least have a new song from new friends. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!
Crap open a cold one!
