Show notes - Episode 171: Get Out and Have a Merry Christmas

Happy Saturday, friends!

I hope you are having a lovely time doing whatever makes you happy. If you have to work today, force your colleagues to listen to me rant and ramble about Christmas stuff and play tunes that are [probably] too loud. You're welcome!

Click here to download the episode!

Pat rambles on Festivus (6:14), Christmas plans (10:50), and converting a Scrooge (12:12), rants on oblivious shoppers (14:21), talks wish lists (19:42), Light Bulb Lady (31:16), holiday movies (44:11), Christmas traditions (53:32), and gets a post-credits visit from The Captain (65:30).

Plus hear Christmas tunes from 7 Minutes in Heaven (26:42), Bronnie (39:47), Hana Khan & Danny Schmitz (49:43), and Much Better (62:51)!

🎅

I forgot to warn you on the show, so I'll do it now: not everyone can handle Festivus. You have to do it with the right group - that means no strangers - and might I recommend not celebrating in the "traditional" way? That is, pointing at people and calling out how they've wronged you. I know a family who did it this way and it came to blows. If that's your thing? Go for it! But I wanted to put out that disclaimer, since I know I make me reading insults with my siblings-in-law sound so great. Have fun!

This seems really simple, but I always feel the need to spell it out: be aware of your surroundings. This goes for protecting your money and my sanity. Get what you need and get moving, because we've all got *coin* to do. (Also that request for a personal grocery shopping consultant is 100p real. Let me know if you can help!)

I still don't know why Light Bulb Lady didn't lead off the show like she usually does, but I love getting to tell that story every year. One of these times I need to have Amy on to give her side, because I may have missed some juicy details in my trance-like state. Wherever you are, ma'am, I hope you're having a wonderful time (both Amy and Light Bulb Lady)!

Big shoutout to everyone who allowed me to play their sweet Christmas tunes on the show this year. Go get Noel (No Faith), Modern Day Xmas, Ho Ho Ho, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas by clicking the things! Woooo!

Thanks for joining me once again, and for weighing in on the questions. I hope you enjoy whatever you have happening in your universe this week, and that no one makes you listen to that Jackson 5 song (you know the one)!

Until next time, don't do anything I wouldn't do - and be good to each other!

Crap open a cold one!
