Show notes - Episode 224: Fight For Your Holidays

Morning, friends!

We covered a lot today, and somehow still came in under an hour. How can I not do this every week? I don't know, but here are all of the things!

Click here to download the episode!

Pat rambles on more holidays (2:04), his trip to the mall (8:56), Christmas fun (15:42), listener questions (19:01), and being audited at work (24:27). Plus music from Falyn (31:58), 49ers at Seahawks for NFL Week 17 (37:09), some MLB notes (40:15), New Year’s Eve plans (44:09), and a post-credits visit from The Captain!

More holidays

Did I cut out some of the opening segment because it got too heavy? Yes friend, yes I did. So what I'll say here is that if you're not cool with holiday things, you are more than welcome to join me to chat about whatever else is out there. Let's have all of the fun! (Also for real: Why has America not adopted takanakuy as a tradition yet?)

Mall walking

Do I wish I didn't have to go to the mall a few days before Christmas? Of course I do, but I still had a good day of it: I got the gift I needed and came away with a story. Plus I got my Stewart's fix!

Christmas fun

What I liked about Christmas things: getting this statue to go with the clown. What I didn't like: having to spend more money on Uber because "police activity" delayed our train on Christmas Day. You jerks can't take off for one *coin* day?

Listener questions

As much as I enjoy answering your questions, I also appreciate that youse guyses didn't make me read out loud too much. So thank you for that! And I hope you are ready to fight the Grinch and politely decline that snot-covered cake!

Audited by THE MAN

This was straight up prepaid terrible, friends. I was not as ready as I thought and I'm sure the big wig realized that and/or thought I was a complete moron who can't do his job. Thank Neptune for hibernation unions!

Falyn

Thanks to our new friend for her song, The Basement! It may not have been her "official" debut, and I think I got her Twitter handle wrong (sometimes I misread things), but it's wonderful and I can't wait to hear more from her. Follow her social media places to keep up and I'll just sit here wondering if I should ask her for an interview. Gonna be great!

NFL Week 17: San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

Not gonna lie, friends: I made the decision for this game during the song this week. I know the 49ers won't want to lose to Seattle twice, but Beast Mode is [allegedly] back so that tips the scale. Skittles for everyone!

MLB HOTSTOVE

I'm sure I missed some moves, but I got the big ones in there for you. I like what the White Sox and Blue Jays are doing so far. They know where they need to improve and they are doing the things. I wish the Phillies could have gotten Ryu, but hopefully they will get arms elsewhere. I don't know if I can handle another season of a broken bullpen. When is Spring Training?

New Year's Eve

I'm not a "go out and be around people" kinda guy, as you know, which is why our singalong celebration last year was so fun. Whatever you've got planned this year, enjoy it and don't be a moron.

And that's that, friends! Next week we'll have a hot debate at a listener's request, along with a work thing that made me write a patpeeve - plus whatever else you suggest and/or tumbles out of my face hole. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do! And as always, many thanks to The Captain for all of his hard work!

Crap open a cold one!
