Show notes - Episode 249: Don’t Knock Me Down for the Summer

Morning, friends!

We started a bit rough this week, but sometimes real stuff happens and we have to do the thing. We also talked a bunch of baseball stuff and played a new song from old pals, so here we go!

Click here to download the episode!

Pat opens with a tribute (2:55) before rambling on Long Gone Summer (10:41), and PlayStation 5 (32:30). Plus more problems with MLB (38:19), the latest song from Kestrels (46:39), and more!

Uncle Ed

I'm sure I missed telling some wonderful stories, but I got out the one I wanted before I had to pause the show. I consider that a moral victory. (Also I remember taking a picture with just Uncle Ed and Aunt Mary Ellen at my wedding, but I can only find the full family one.)

Long Gone Summer

I wasn't sure if I was going to get into this as much as I did, but there ya go. And yes I know it started with Todd McFarlane talking about how he bought the famous ball for $3 million - my bad. Anywho, it was fun to relive that fun summer, even though it could have used more Sosa (and Griffey). Watch it on ESPN+ here (subscription required, but I know you already have it bundled with Disney+)!

PlayStation 5

I didn't dive into the games, but I know Zach and Chad did on this week's episode of TFD Nerdcast, so click here to listen to that! (Digital-only console will be a huge seller, I think.)

MLB in flux

I'm not sure what to say. I want to watch baseball. I am worried that the longer this goes, the chance of a labor strike next year increases tenfold. On the surface he looks calm and ready removing Manfred after all of this may happen, but will that actually help? Get it together, billionaires! Send in Tito!

"What seems to be the problem...guys?"

Kestrels

Thanks to our friends for their new tune! Stream Grey and Blue on the places and get the new record, Dream or Don't Dream, on July 10! Yeah!

And that's that, pals! I wasn't sure about recording this episode in one shot, but I did the thing. Next week I'll try to be more fun - no promises though!

Until then don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
