Show notes - Episode 195: Quit Knocking and Go Find Some Friends

Morning, friends!

We did a lot today, even after my big edit, and I think this may have been the longest I went before "officially" starting the episode. I'll try to do better on that front - maybe. I am of course short on time, so let's get to it!

Pat rambles on yoga lessons (5:00), being a PayPal guy (10:31), furniture shopping at mom's (13:20), and Jeopardy James (16:41). Plus our favorite multiplayer games (20:42), the latest tune from Get Your Head Straight (32:48), an impromptu patpeeve on salesmen (38:20), a Superwin update from Vito (44:27), and some thoughts on Pride (47:06).

DDP Yoga lesson

This lesson was awesome. I mean, it was a bit painful and I'm terribly out of shape, but this is a thing I need to be doing. I'm disappointed I only got to do it twice this week, but things should calm down around here after today, so that means more time to make a better me! (I'm sorry, that was bad.)

PayPal

I honestly didn't mean to turn in to one of "those guys" during this segment, I promise. But if it helps me get my studio up and running, I [and my lovely laaaadyyyy] will take it.

Furniture shopping

It was so great to be able to find useful stuff at my mom's so I don't have to spend all of my money before Wizard World next week, though I do wish I had found the plastic shelves instead of these pesky metal ones. And I'm glad I measured the basement door again so I know that my desk will fit through it. So I guess my second big request in this post is for someone strong and coordinated to help me carry the desk down my mom's stairs! Who's with me?

Jeopardy James

This dude was so fun to watch. I always enjoy when people play Jeopardy! to win - go for the big amounts early - rather than going down the board in order. The point is to get the most money, so why wouldn't you try to grab those clues first? I also love that James gave a lot to charity and seemingly using his fame to help people. That is a weird connection to make I know, but he might be a robot so it's all good. (And seriously, when is Teen Week so I can feel smart?)

Our favorite multiplayer games

The purpose of this question was two-fold: one, I knew a lot of people would mention games I both enjoy and have actually played. And two, I am having people over today and wanted to get a consensus on fun games for everyone. So thanks, friends! I have one fewer thing to worry about now!

Get Your Head Straight

Thanks so much, new pals! I'm sorry I disrespected you by doing a terrible English(?) accent. Click the picture for their latest tune, and find them everywhere on the social places! Woooo!

Door-to-door scam artists

Most of the time I enjoy when an interruption leads to a show topic. When that interruption is a clear scam (the names on the clipboard looked like they were written by the same person) though? That's when ol Pat gets upset. This is why we never answered the door at our old place. Maybe I should go back to that policy...

Also we hit a milestone during this segment: 1000 coins! Sadly this does not mean that I have said that many bad words, since I count rings (people's names) and rupees (company names) in that. But I'm still pretty proud of this one! Woooo!

Also also: I remembered to set up his segment on the show - thanks for the Superwin update, Vito (please work in "he enjoyed a rib-eye steak" to as many segments as possible)! #ScrewtheDH

Straight Pride Parade

Instead of typing out a bunch of stuff, here is what I read - a Facebook post by the wonderful James Fell:

Next week

I may have a retail story if I find time to do the research - it's an old favorite that I want to get right. I may also ask about your favorite book series, and I will probably dig into the vault for a sweet tune. Beyond that, I of course have no idea.

But that's that, friends! Thank you so much for joining me. I hope you enjoyed my long-winded ramblings, and that you enjoy yourselves today and everyday. I am off to the hardware store so wish me luck! Until next time, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
