Show notes - Episode 416: Jesus Wouldn't Give Us Homework

Morning, friends!

A chance encounter, a couple of complaints, rasslin, and more - plus some homework for you. We're doing it all today. Let's go!

Pat plays music from Ruby Bones (5:36), rambles on chance encounters (11:24), and rants on investor listings (18:38), and He Gets Us ads (24:05). Plus a best wrestler fan question (35:06), new MLB rules (45:51), and more.

Ruby Bones

Many thanks to our pals for the tune! It's been a while, but I felt we all needed a fun song today. And if they broke up? Well, that's no good. But at least we have a sweet mouthriff! Get Drink All Night here!

Chance encounters

Shout out to mom (if she reads these) for inadvertently giving me a piece of the show this week. I think I was vague enough to not make anyone mad. Let me know about chance encounters you may have, and who you would call right away to talk about it.

Investor listings

I hate these. I will admit that I do not know much about real estate, so maybe there is an advantage to selling to an investor vs a real person. But as I sit here now? That doesn't feel right, Mr. Phelps.

He Gets Us

The About Us section on this weird website says they're not trying to make us go to church, and that's fine. But it's really odd to me that Jesus needs all of these commercials. Or more accurately, that someone thinks He needs ads. I'm not sold on whatever the "agenda" is, so maybe I need to put on my tinfoil hat and dive into this.

Fan mail: Who is the best wrestler right now?

Thank you for the question, but also damn you. This is so tough to answer, because more than one person can be correct. Right now though, I'll give it to Roman Reigns. There's a reason he's been in the main spot of the best story in rasslin for three years. I won't go into the Kenny Omega stuff here, because it's in the show and I wrote a bit about my feelings here. Let me know who you think is at the top right now.

New MLB rules

I love the pitch clock. I have been all about its implementation since 2017. No one needs to watch pitchers and hitters stall for time and adjust themselves for 20 minutes every game. I am looking forward to seeing how the shift rules affect the game, so hopefully that will happen soon. But really, I'm mostly happy that baseball is back. Baseball!

🏡

And that, my friends, is that! Lots of complaining today, but it be like that sometimes. Next week I will produce the episode that AI created, and I think I have a good AITA from Reddit. So come on back for all of that fun and more. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
