Show notes - Episode 268: Don’t Spook Your TV

Morning friends, and Happy Halloween!

We did this show a bit differently, but I had a ton of fun with it and I hope you do as well. I watched ten of our favorite TV specials, tossed in a familiar patpeeve, played a tune from MUCH BETTER, and more. Let's go!

Click here to download the episode!

Pat rambles about your favorite Halloween specials (4:44), shares a timely patpeeve (24:23), spins a festive tune from MUCH BETTER (28:24), recaps the World Series (30:07), and more!

TV specials

I am surprised it took me this long to ask everyone about their favorite specials, but I'm glad I finally did it. Could I have spaced these out so I didn't have to watch ten episodes yesterday? Probably. But what fun is that? Two of the picks are on YouTube, so you can watch those below:

Halloween with The Addams Family

Garfield's Halloween Adventure

(The Great Pumpkin Special is also on YouTube, but I could only find it in playlists and I'm not about to post four more videos up in here.)

EDIT: I almost forgot about the Bob's Burgers video! YouTube comes through again!

Lights on "for safety"

It wouldn't be Halloween if Pat didn't yell about people leaving their lights on while having no candy. People - and this is from a curmudgeon - stop crushing the dreams of children. If you aren't giving out candy, or if you run out of candy, turn off your front light. In a year when kids have already lost out on so much, don't add to it.

MUCH BETTER

Many thanks to our pals for the festive tune! Go stream For the Kids (better yet: buy it?) and enjoy this holiday treat.

World Series

Congratulations to your Los Angeles Dodgers for winning it all! As you know, I'm a big Clayton Kershaw fan, so this is great. Justin Turner kinda ruined the moment a bit, but now we are in one of the weirdest off-seasons ever. Add in that every owner lost money except Steve Cohen (new Mets big wig), and this is about to get very interesting for sure.

(Also I missed a detail when I said "they made it through without a positive test." The post-season bubble did not, to my knowledge, have a positive test before Turner's on Tuesday.)

NFL Week 8: Los Angeles Rams at Miami Dolphins

The Rams are good and facing a rookie quarterback. I like what the Dolphins have done so far, but I think the Rams take this one. Do I think Tua will be good, generally? Yes I do. But I don't know that this will be the week for him.

🍬

And that's that, pals! Thanks so much for joining me, and for letting me know about your favorite Halloween specials. Stay safe tonight and prepare yourself for 30 days of me on your newsfeeds. Next week's regular episode may be a rasslin show if I can swing it, but we shall see. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
