Show notes - Episode 411: Sloppy Faux Pas

Morning, friends!

Today we hear a tune from new friends, dive into political jobs, and take aim at baseball writers. Let's go!

Pat plays music from glimmers (4:35), then rambles on tech issues (8:40), and political jobs we'd take (12:46). Plus NFL playoffs (29:58), the Baseball Hall of Fame (34:47), and a Flyers Update from The Captain (37:57).

Thanks to glimmers for the tune, and to Madi on Twitter for the connection! Find more from glimmers here, and get Midas Touch here! Go see them on tour next month!

Tech stuff (pt 367)

I have learned how to connect my interface to my mixer. I no longer have to switch my headphones and use a bunch of extra wires (one). I just can't believe the answer was so simple. How could I not figure this out on my own? Why did it take weeks? (Because I'm a dope.)

Political jobs

I did not think I would go off on that tangent about presidential succession, but I had a good time with it (and learned things!). I did miss one job from our friend, Smelly Meatball, which I will share with you here:

Probably mayor of a quiet small rural town. Likely would be a very laid back job with the only worries being a hypothetical zombie or other horror-based monster invasion and maybe boredom if its the type of town with limited to non-existent internet access.

NFL Conference Championships

49ers and Eagles. Bengals and Chiefs. These are the final four teams and I think any one of them could win the title. These games should be great, which means the Superb Owl should also be great. I hope you all win some money on these.

Baseball Hall of Fame

I love Scott Rolen. He is my favorite Phillies player. I met him in 1996 before the Phillies played the Red Sox at Fenway Park and he could not have been nicer [in our 10-second interaction]. He was a top player at his position for many years, so yes he deserves to be here even if the counting stats don't show it. I am very much looking forward to seeing him go in alongside Fred McGriff. (Also if you submit a blank ballot, you suck and should not be allowed to vote next time.)

And that's that, my friends! We did it! Thanks for coming today. I hope you have all of the fun doing your things. Next week I have no idea what's going to be on, so come on back and let's have some fun! Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
