Show notes - Episode 431: Happy Birthday from the Forums

Morning, friends!

Birthday recap, Father's Day advice, music from shallow pools, people online can't read - we have a bit of everything today. Let's do this!

To download the episode, click here!

Pat plays new music from shallow pools (6:27), then rambles on his birthday (11:59), random moments we miss (16:47), the need for message boards (21:40), new AI Beatles (35:42), and Father’s Day (46:25).

Patrons got a little bit of a bonus in place of the song this week, so check that out here and give me a dollar!

I love this band. My son loves this band. I need to have them back on the show. I know I've been slacking because I've not played a bunch of their songs on the show. Should we fix that? I don't know. But here is the music video for IHYK - get the song here!

Birthday fun

I turned 35 on Sunday and I am announcing my run for president (I am not doing that). But we had a nice day. The food was good, we saw Mom, I got ice cream cake. Happy birthday to me, indeed!

Things we miss

Why a walk to the movie theater brought up such a fond memory I'm not sure. But I'd like to be able to do that again. And I'd like to hear from you about this. What places, events, or routes taken do you miss? Would you have the chance to revisit them? Also I'll bet the city of Philadelphia misses this part of 95:

Kids need forums

I have seen too many "hot takes" on Twitter recently that are adults dunking on teenagers. The death of message boards gave these young people nowhere to put their ignorant opinions. They need to cut their teeth before 45-year-old losers try to dunk on them!

Congratulations: Nuggets, Golden Knights

Two teams won their first-ever championship in two sports this week, and I think that's awesome. Good for them and good for those fans.

John Lennon AI

If you want to read the full piece from Deadline Hollywood, click here. I think this is really neat, mainly because I actually read the article and not just the headline. Are there any old Nirvana or Linkin Park demos we could use in this way?

🎂

And that is that, my friends! Join me on Twitch tonight (I hope!) for some Tony Hawk. If not, come on back next week for other stuff. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
