Show notes - Episode 470: Digitally Thirsty

Morning, friends!

We ended up covering a lot of ground today. Except for the lack of sports (from me), you might be able to call this a quintessential episode of the show. Let's get to it!

Pat rambles on hard-to-find sodas (1:19), plays new music from VERRA (10:34), and wonders about digital rentals (15:36). Plus internet gaming issues (26:08), retirement plans (42:05), and a Flyers Update from The Captain (52:53).

Sodas

My picks for great hard-to-find sodas: Cherry 7-Up, Mountain Dew Livewire, SURGE, and Orange Vanilla Coke. I guess that would be my carbonated Mt. Rushmore? What about you? What are your favorite rare fizzy drinks?

Thanks to our new friends for the tune! Get Ever After here and tell em Pat sent you!

Digital rentals

I did look this up after the show: Amazon rentals are for 30 days, but a minimum of 48 hours after starting the movie. Some titles have longer time limits. My question is: Why is there a limit at all once you start? You've paid for 30 days of access and there is a possibility that you wouldn't even get that.

Gaming and the Internet

Thank you for the question, Jimmy from Mayfair. I hope you found an answer somewhere in my ramblings. It is cool that via the Internet, you can play games with people from almost anywhere. But the facts that companies partake in predatory DLC practices and released unfinished games are inexcusable. Is there a way to stop those? Oh! Speaking of gaming, check out some of my THPS 1+2 runs from YouTube here!

If you could retire...

Shoutout to andyTHPS for indirectly giving me this topic (like he will ever read this or hear the show). Check him out on Twitch here! Anywho, if I didn't have to worry about money? This show might sound more professional. Or at least, it would contain more timely segments. I'd also write more music and stream more on Twitch. What about you?

Flyers

I knew The Captain would talk about the suspension. I did not know though, that the team paid his fine. I like that. Not every organization would back a coach in that way. Have the Flyers really turned a corner here?

🛹

And that, as we say, is that! Thank you for coming to the table. Thank you for the question, Jimmy from Mayfair. And someone please remind me of the questions I said I would pose to you. Please and thank you. Until next week, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
