Show notes - Episode 567: Read the [W]hole Story

Morning, friends!

We are once again short on time this week, but at least the show will be up by midnight as usual (my bad for last week!). Having a sick kiddo at home really puts a dent in, well, everything. So here we are doing the thing! Let's go!

Pat rambles on AI in emails, streaming service pause screens, [w]hole milk, and the Baseball Hall of Fame election before getting a Flyers Update from The Captain.

AI in emails

I don't know who this is for, but I bet it's for your dumb cousin or uncle who shares clearly nonsensical "news" stories on Facebook. People, please learn how to read and write your own emails. Or reach out to me and I will be your consultant.

Pausing streams

I wish I had found the post I saw about this so I could have shared some of the discussion points, but sometimes the Internet is a cruel mistress. Either way, please just let me see the full screen when I pause a show. I do not need more ads. I do not need any other crap on the screen. I want the show I am watching on my TV. That's all.

[W]hole milk, "new discoveries"

The president is an idiot. Anyone who watches him speak for more than ten seconds can see this (unless they also are idiots). So it is not shocking when he learns a new thing and presents it as some massive discovery. The world is weird when you don't know anything, I guess. It is also very funny to see tech bros freak out of concepts like hanging with their friends and growing food. We. Are. Cooked.

Baseball Hall of Fame

Look, I am not trying to say that Carlos Beltran does not deserve to be voted to the Hall based on his numbers. You can argue for or against that if you'd like. My issue is that he was behind the biggest cheating scandal baseball had seen in a hundred years, and it did not deter the writers. Meanwhile, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were cheating (or suspected of it) in a different way and got blocked out. Cheating is either a disqualifier for the Hall of Fame or it isn't. The hypocrisy is silly here.

💉

And that, as we say, is that! Next week, we'll either have a guest or one of my backup episodes since I will be in the office starting on Monday. Cross your fingers and toes, and come on back to find out what's what. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
