Show notes - Episode 587: Verify My Concerns

Morning, friends!

One more time we present an episode I recorded a month ago. Today we read some mail and relayed a story about Meta glasses. Let's get to the stuff!

Pat rambles on changes in sports video games, being recorded on the job, and getting verified on social media.

Changes in sports games

I love getting mail about nerdy shit that I enjoy, because then I don't have to feel bad bringing it up on the show (since I know lots of you don't care about sports or vidya games). Thank you for writing in, friend! Yes, it does bug me that Franchise modes have changed. And I don't think I'll ever fully invest in these online team-building modes that have taken over sports games in the last ten years or so. I play alone. Please enhance at least one of the single-player modes in your game.

Recording people in public

I have talked about this topic before, but it bears repeating: Please do not record videos or take photos of strangers in public without their consent. I don't care if it's for some prank on TikTok or just because you like using your camera. If everyone in your view did not consent, nobody consented. I am so glad I don't work retail anymore because these weird dudes would definitely try some nonsense.

Getting verified online

I have thought about this, but I never strongly considered it. It would be cool to see a little check next to my name so people knew I was legit, but paying for social media when growing the show is not a goal seems counterproductive. But if you want to see that little check, send me $8 a month or whatever it is and I will do it (maybe).

And that, as we say, is that! Thanks for sticking with me, my friends! Next week, we are back in the chair doing the thing. Come on back to hear ol Pat in real time. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
