Show notes - Episode 251: They Serve Among Us

Morning, friends!

We started heavy this week, but I did my best to turn it around by the end of the show. Thank you for all of the positive vibes this week, they were appreciated. Now then, let's do the stuff!

Click here to download the episode!

Pat remembers Fez (2:37) before rambling on secret apartments (13:30), restaurant ads (21:51), The Douchebag (29:30), and more before sending you home with a war story.

Fez

Our last little buddy is gone. You would think I'd be used to this by now, but this hurts a bunch. I hated to see him like he was for the last week or so, but selfishly I miss him every day. I miss hearing him squeak for his carrot in the morning. I miss having him greet me when I come home [or now, up from the basement]. I miss seeing him climb up the cage to let us know it's pellet time. I know we did the right thing, but this is terrible. To make you/me smile, here is how I was usually greeted in the morning - he got as close as he could to the end of the cage so we would definitely see him to give him a carrot:

Secret living

First, I'm really glad I was able to clean up the basement. It was a good distraction and whenever I walk through to get into the studio I feel better. Second, I really want to know if my hunch is correct. Did someone live in this basement? You could definitely hook up a portable shower thing in the laundry room, and there's enough space for small appliances like a fridge (we have one here) and a microwave. Do you think my property manager would spill the beans on who lived here before us?

Ad teasing

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is being taunted by ads. The Pizza Hut one may be less egregious because those local eateries have only recently closed, but we've been seeing Hardee's commercials around here for years. Get it together, big wigs!

The Douchebag

Thank you for weighing in on this. I wasn't sure if this would go over well, but it actually did so I was pleasantly surprised. For reference, here is the picture Vito shared:

And I also want to direct you to Hot Chicks with Douchebags for some more gold - thanks, Keith!

Beavis and Butthead & Animorphs

While I may have been happier with a King of the Hill return (imagine Hank and Dale arguing about wearing masks), I am looking forward to Beavis and Butthead. Those dudes will find a way to crap all over everyone and it should be enjoyable.

And speaking of enjoyable: I cannot wait for this Animorphs movie! I know nothing about the plot or cast, but this is my favorite book series so I am excited to see how it gets adapted. I may need to trek to mom's in a hazmat suit (precautions!) to grab those books to re-read them before this movie arrives.

The Wrong Jefferson

I love telling everyone that story my dad shared with me from his Navy days. It always makes me laugh and I figured it was a good way to wrap an episode that was heavy to start. Do you think that dude looked like one of these guys?

And that's that, friends! I don't know what's on tap for next week, but we did record two episodes of The Short-lived Show Show yesterday so we will be back in your feeds on Wednesday. Until then, stay safe and don't do anything I wouldn't do! And Happy Birthday, Buster - miss you, buddy!

Crap open a cold one!
