Show notes - Episode 549: Ten Years of Talking

Morning, friends!

Well, we're a bit over the weather this week, but we did it! It was quite a weekend in Pat Land, and we also hit a milestone with the show. Let's get to it!

Pat rambles on a kid-free weekend, The Final Boy premiere, the 9/9/9 challenge, and a decade of the podcast.

Kid-free weekend

Shout to Jen and her crew for taking the boy for a few days. He had a wonderful time doing all of the things, as did we. Way to come through in the clutch!

The Final Boy

I had never been to a movie premiere, or an after-party for that matter. But both events were super fun! Also, you should absolutely see The Final Boy posthaste. You can buy it on Vimeo now by clicking here. Tell Ian that Pat sent you!

9/9/9 challenge

I knew that the hardest part of this would be the hot dogs, and I was absolutely correct. By the 6th inning, I felt awful. It didn't help that the Phillies got wrecked that day (and of course clinched the division the next night), but the nine beers went down easily. Would I do this again? Probably not. I'll ask Phil if we can do sliders next year instead.

A decade of me

Part of me can't believe I still do this. I had no clue what hosting a podcast entailed, even though I had done radio for years at that point. Doing all of the post-show work was a whole new job, and I did not realize how much work it would be. We had to make a lot of tweaks to the process, but I like to think we have found a nice groove with the show now. Thank you to anyone and everyone who helped make this what it is. Cheers for more years!

🍺

And that, as we say, is that! Thanks for coming along today! Next week, we may do something a bit different - we will see how I am feeling and how the timing works. After that, it's one more show until my office assignment (gross). Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
