Show notes - Episode 550: Hungry to Be Free

Morning, friends!

We are almost back to normal over here, but unfortunately you still have congested Pat to deal with today. But we covered a lot of ground and played a sick tune. Let's go!

Pat plays music from Poppy, Amy Lee, and Courtey LaPlante (3:59), then talks free speech (9:18), continue watching buttons (21:55), toasting sandwich rolls (28:43), and pork roll (35:55).

Many thanks to our friends at Public City PR for the go ahead on this one! Buy the song here - it fucking rules!

Free speech

I don't always bring up serious topics on the show anymore, but I felt it was necessary today. A quick primer for anyone confused: Facebook removing your post? Not a free speech issue. Someone from the government getting a show cancelled because they do not like the content? Free speech issue. This should never be okay in America!

Continue watching?

I can't be the only person bothered by this, and I hope I'm not the only one who hasn't figured out the solution. If I say "play without asking again," why does the message come up on a different show in the same app? How can I fix this? Hello? Is this thing on?

Toasting rolls

Don't get me wrong, friends: I enjoy a toasted roll. But not when it has been left on the grill for so long that it crumbles while I'm eating. Everyone needs to take a note from Big Al: lightly toast your rolls! Lightly!

Pork roll

I suspect someone out there expected me to take a hard line on this, considering my past preferences about food and semantics. But truthishly, I have never thought about this debate. My only real contribution is that pork roll is delicious and I would like some.

🥪

And that, as we say, is that! Thank you for joining me once again. I hope you sound and feel better than I do, and that I can get closer to full strength for next week. Come on back to hear if I made it. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
